Alpha-methyl Tryptamine is a long lasting tryptamine most similar in nature perhaps to LSD. For some people, the effects come on quickly, and for others quite slowly. Many people experience nausea and vomiting with AMT. There is some reason to believe it may work as a mild MAOI.

Oral AMT Dosages
Threshold	5 - 15 mg
Light	10 - 25 mg
Common	20 - 40 mg
Strong	30 - 60 mg
Heavy	60 - 80 mg

Onset : 30 - 120 minutes
Peak : 3 - 5 hours
Duration : 10 - 14 hours (higher doses seem to last longer)
Normal After Effects : 1 - 5 hours

Warning! Because AMT's effects can take over 2 hours to fully develop, a common error is to redose (add more) thinking that the initial dose was too low. This has lead to a number of very unpleasant and potentially dangerous overdose experiences. Those who have made this error recommend waiting until at least 2.5 hours after the initial dose to add more.

Notes:

We have received several complaints by users that our oral dosages shown are far too low. There are a number of reports of individuals taking 100-200mg recreationally and some of these people argue that the reports of overwhelming effects felt by others at 40-80mg are exaggerated. It is important to keep in mind how much variation there is in experiential effects based on personal biochemistry, expectation, and other difficult to determine factors. We have received reports of overwhelming effects on as little as 40mg and users taking as much as 400mg (!).
We have also received several reports of severe vomiting, dissociation, dehydration, and extreme reactions with as little as 40mg oral AMT. New users should not begin experimentation above the threshold level of any psychoactive drug and should slowly work their way up over the course of several sessions to avoid dangerously strong reactions.
People experienced in experimenting with powerful psychoactives recommend starting with very low doses and working up to check for one's personal thresholds for each compound.
